Successful business networking
EADA MBAs and International Master Programmes students got together on January 22nd in Barcelona to learn the secrets of the do’s and don’ts of networking and also the techniques needed for pitching –before and after networking–. Around 100 students gathered at the event to listen to the recruitment professional, trainer and talent speaker Girish Pramani. He holds a MBA and is founder and Managing Director of Valor Global Executive Search. Furthermore, Pramani is a senior executive headhunting & search supplier for large multinational clients including Nike and Reckitt Benckiser.
According to Girish Pramani, 70% of our success depends not on what we know but on who we know
Pramani told the participants about the importance of networking for building productive relationships and generating new clients. As he pointed out, connecting with new people is the key to succeed in our business and to help others in approaching their goals. Actually, he explained that 70% of our success depends not on what we know but on who we know.
This talented entrepreneur caught the attention of all EADA participants by transmitting them his passion for public speaking, business consulting and cross culture impact on business and society. In fact, all of them could put in practice the pieces of advice he gave at the event. According to Melissa Handley, EADA Alumni and EADA Careers director, “the main objective of this networking session was to encourage participants to meet fellows from other programmes and establish a lifelong connection by improving their networking skills”. Handley highlights that “Girish shared some very useful tips on how to start to network during an event, how to define clear networking objectives, and what do we want to communicate about ourselves”.
The meeting was so helpful that EADA participants had the initiative to organize a second networking event on their own as they were very interested in putting Girish’s advices into practice. So, we look forward to our next official event!
