The successful story of Edoardo Peschechera: From Apple to a startup

After the conference, Edoardo Peschechera gave some advices to a few group of International Master in Management participants who were interested in setting up their own business.

Edoardo Peschechera, Italian, 30 years old, is one of the four EADA Alumni who took part in the recent EADA Startup Day, an event addressed to current International Master in Management participants. Peschechera finished this programme in 2009. As he said in the conference, EADA’s ‘learning by doing’ methodology let him develop several negotiation, leadership and communication skills. Furthermore, “EADA professors gave me a holistic view of the business world that has helped me to do a comprehensive analysis of the multiple challenges that I have found in my career”.

After graduating at EADA, he broke into the technology and innovation field. First as an Inside Sales Account Manager for the Italian and Spanish market at Wacon Europe. “Here I was responsible for a number of partners actively approaching, establishing and developing the relationship with the goal of growing and developing them”. The next step was Apple, “the company of choice”, where he managed key accounts, maintaining a long term relationship and maximizing sales opportunities. “I was focused on growing and developing existing clients, together with generating new business”. For him, “two years in Apple is like five years in a normal business, because the pressure was amazing and the speed with which the strategy was changing”.

A dream come true

But there came a day when because of his curiosity and desire to innovate, Apple no longer motivated him enough. “I needed to run my own business”. So, he left Apple and cofounded SetNova Inspiring Solutions in July, 2014. It’s a tech consulting company based in Barcelona specialized in digital marketing, Big Data platform and Analytics, geofencing and proximity marketing and app development. As he commented, “our compromise is to inspire our clients in finding the way to differentiate them from the competitors”. He added: “As matter of fact, we involve them in the full product creation process, from the concept to the deployment, this way they feel part of the work and let us create exactly what they want. We become their technology partner”.

Edoardo’s main advice is ‘if you risk you may lose but If you don’t you’ve already lost’

The main advice that Edoardo gave to the International Master in Management participants at the EADA Startup Event was: “If you risk you may lose but If you don’t you’ve already lost”. The common questions the participants asked him were if it’s necessary to have an IT guy in the team or if they should need investors. In all cases, Edoardo recommended them “to test the business everyday, to understand that the environment changes quickly and also it’s impossible to be profitable in the first two years”.
