The Green Commerce project is lead by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce of Valencia, through the General Directorate on Consumers and Commerce along with the participation of the the Council of Torrevieja,ITENE, ACR+ and the Society of development of the Council of San Sebastian
Green Commerce is aimed at involvingsmall retailers to campaign against climate change, to promote the environmental responsibilities in the retail sector and to reduce energy consumption and waste production by means of simple measures.
Moreover, the project aims to encourage innovation in businesses regarding environmental issues by publicizing and promoting successful case studies, in addition to raising awareness with consumers about best practices when shopping that will respect the environment
Green Commerce will be carried out between 2010 and 2012 andhas a total budget of more than 900 000€ where 50% is funded by the European Union.
